Mars Budget cuts 'irrational' says former NASA Science Cheif
An artist's photograph, shows a sky crane lowering a rover down to the surface of mars. The rover had launched from Cape Canaveral in November 2011 no specific date included. The rover is set to land on mars on August 2012. NASA says "It may be one of the last missions to the red planet in the near future." Due to it being one of the last missions NASA is forced to abandon all plans to go and visit neighboring planets said in this article. linked here: http://www.csmonitor.com/Science/2012/0213/Mars-budget-cuts-irrational-says-former-NASA-science-chief. Scientists mentioned NASA is
about to make major cuts in its exploration of other planets,
especially Mars. NASA's former science chief is calling the plan
irrational. Originally the cost that it would take to make the mars plan successful was about 300 million to 1.5 billion dollars. a total amount of the mars plan that NASA has collected for it is 581.7 million dollars. But due to budget cuts the total amount has decreased and isn't sufficient enough to go through with the plan. Hopefully NASA will be able to rise again and move along with their future plans.
